to the 2007 State Convention?
You will receive a delegate packet in the mail during the first week of October. If
you'd like to find out before then, feel free to contact Party headquarters at (850) 222-3411.
Are there still hotel rooms available?
No, both the Yacht & Beach Club Resort and Caribbean Beach Resort have sold out.
We recommend that you book rooms in the Orlando area so you definitely have a place to stay.
If I'm not staying at the Yacht & Beach Club, where
can I park? Will you be providing transportation?
Parking at the actual convention site will only be available to guests staying at
Disney's Yacht & Beach Club. However, for those who are staying at the Caribbean Beach Resort or
elsewhere, the Party has made arrangements to handle your transportation needs. If you are staying at
the Caribbean Beach Resort, we will have a bus shuttle service transporting our delegates throughout
the weekend. If you are staying anywhere else in the park or will be commuting to the convention
daily, you will be parking in the Epcot Parking Lot. Parking passes will be included in the delegate
packet sent to you in the first week of October. A bus shuttle service will also transport delegates
to and from the Epcot lot and the Convention Center throughout the weekend.
Where will delegate registration take place? When will I
receive my credentials?
We will have registration tables at the Yacht & Beach Club Convention Center throughout the weekend. Registration will begin at 3 PM on Friday, October 26th in the Grand Harbor Ball Room, and will continue on Saturday at the Asbury Rotunda Registration Counter. You will receive your credentials when you

Party sponsored State Convention events. You will receive only one for the entire weekend.
What are my options for meals? How do I purchase meal
tickets?
There will be several Party-sponsored meals during the State Convention. You can
purchase individual meal tickets or meal packages online, or by printing out and mailing in a meal ticket form with payment to:
Florida Democratic Party
Attn: State Convention
214 S. Bronough Street
Tallahassee, FL 32301
There are other food options available on-site at the Yacht & Beach Club Resort, as
well as in the local area. For a full listing of Convention meals and events, please visit our events page.
What should I budget for the Convention? What are the
expenses?
This depends on the individual. Generally, travel to and from Orlando, meals, delegate
fees and the hotel stay are the main costs. Registered delegates will not need to pay for parking or
transportation once they are on Disney property.
What about the Four State Pledge? Does this mean the
presidential candidates are not coming to the State Convention?
Many people are asking about the so-called 'Four State Pledge' - the attempt by the
early states of Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada and South Carolina to maintain their positions of
influence in the presidential primary nominating process by keeping Presidential candidates from
campaigning in states a with primary date before February 5, which includes Florida. We obviously don't
support the pledge, and we are disappointed that most of the candidates have signed it. Despite the
Four State Pledge, we are still planning for an exciting 2007 State Convention.
Will guests be allowed to attend even if they aren't a
delegate?
Guests can purchase day guest passes for $50 per day or $100 for the weekend by sending in the guest pass form (postmarked by Oct. 19th) with
payment, or paying on-site. In order to attend as a guest, one must establish that he or she is a
registered Democratic voter by presenting a voter registration card and photo I.D. If the voter
cannot produce a voter registration card, he/she must present a photo I.D. and complete an affidavit
declaring Party registration and be verified as a registered Democrat using current voter rolls.
What does a delegate do?
As a delegate to the 2007 State Convention, you'll have access to free campaign
training from some of the nation's top political experts and inspiring speeches from great Democratic
leaders. You'll also get to mix and mingle with your elected officials and other fellow Democrats
from across the state. It's an excellent way to make a real difference in 2007, and help officially
kick off our state's 2008 election season!
How many delegates are attending?
We have over 3000 confirmed delegates.
What is the dress code?
Casual to business casual is the most common dress during the daytime events. At the general session, delegates often where costumes or red, white & blue attire (you can have fun here). The dinner and receptions tend to be more formal, but there is no required dress code.
