Since taking over less than a year, the Democrats in Congress have been fighting every day for a new direction for America. They've had some notable successes, including the first raise in the federal minimum wage in ten years, broad ethics reform, and increased oversight of the war in Iraq.

Unfortunately, on many other serious challenges facing the nation, President Bush and the Do-Nothing Republicans have been stalling, delaying, blocking, vetoing and doing anything else they can to prevent real change.

Democrats in Congress are as committed to change as the American people are, but the President and Bush Republicans have dug in their heels to fight for the status quo. They have chosen to place politics and special interests over America's priorities.

You can change that.

In less than a year, Florida, with 27 huge electoral votes, can deliver the new direction America so desperately needs by electing a Democratic President.

But we can't sit back and hope the cards fall our way. Florida DEMOCRATS have to createCHANGE'08 now to put Florida in the Democratic column - and put this country back on track.

VOTE-BY-MAIL/ABSENTEE TRACK  

GOAL #1: 9 VOTERS (by 1/29/07) - First, commit to vote in Florida's Presidential Preference Primary, preferably by signing up to get all your ballots by mail (absentee - you don't need a reason!). Then, sign up nine (9) fellow strong Democrats to vote by mail through 2010. It's so easy (the next page explains county by county how to do it - in most areas, it only takes a two-minute phone call)

GOAL #2 29 VOTERS (by 2/29/07) - Commit to personally attend or host a February 5^th Super Tuesday Election Night Watch Party. Then, sign up 20 more strong Democrats to vote by mail through 2010 for a total of 29 voters by the end of February (if you get more in January or complete your goal early, just keep on going!)

GOAL #3 50 VOTERS (by 3/20/07) - Before the first day of spring, push your vote-by-mail sign-ups to 50. This may seem like a big number, but you've got three months to do it! Remember to stress that it's easy and fast to vote by mail - and you won't ever miss an election again.

SMALL DOLLAR DONATIONS TRACK

GOAL #1 (by 1/29/07) 90 DOLLARS - First, commit to vote in Florida's Presidential Preference Primary, preferably by signing up to get all your ballots by mail (absentee - you don't need a reason!). Then, raise a total of $90 for the 2008 Florida Democratic coordinated campaign by the primary. Pull in contributions of $5, $10, and $20 now to build the bank for the Democratic nominee - before one is chosen.

GOAL #2 (by 2/29/07) 290 DOLLARS - Commit to personally attend or host a February 5^th Super Tuesday Election Night Watch Party. Then, hit up more friends and co-workers for 10 bucks here and $20 there to add $200 more by the end of February for a total of $290. That means you've got two months to find 10 people to donate $29 to change the country. Or find 15 people who can give $20 each. You'll have your own personal webpage to track your progress.

GOAL #3 (by 3/20/07) 500 DOLLARS - Before the first day of spring, try to reach $500 total raised (only $210 on top of your February goal). By early March, more and more people will be getting fired up about the campaign and we might even know who our Presidential nominee is so you should be able to pull in new people who have never given before.
