Small County Coalition Convention (Other)
Nassau County, FL – The Small County Coalition (SCC) of the Florida Democratic Party announced plans for their annual Small County Coalition Convention, to be held June 20 – 22 on Amelia Island, in Florida.
The coalition, made up of by several hundred representatives of those counties that have Democratic populations of 35,000 or less, holds a convention each year to bring together Coalition Members, Democratic Elected Officials, and registered voters so that the issues and values most important to Florida’s small counties are addressed and discussed.
Florida is comprised of 67 counties, including forty small counties that are rural and agricultural in nature. Their constituency is represented by hundreds of elected officials, and all Democratic representatives have been invited to attend the convention.
Several elected officials and Party Activists from all over Florida are expected to attend. State Senator Dave Aronberg (Palm Beach), Lakeland City Commissioner Justin Troller (Polk), and Campaign Strategist Dave Beattie be addressing the coalition over the weekend.
“Small counties make up a significant portion of Florida’s votes in every election. Our population numbers are low individually, but our combined totals can make the difference in a state or national election, such as the Presidency”, Doug Courtney, President, Small County Coalition. “We invite all registered Democrats from small, medium, and large counties in the State of Florida to attend the convention.”
