MCCAIN = 3RD BUSH TERM FACTS

  • John McCain offers nothing more than a third Bush term. His credentials are as Bush Republican as they come because he promises more of the same recycled policies that are hurting our country and Florida.
  • John McCain is no maverick. He claims to be a moderate but his record speaks the truth. On the most divided issues in the US Senate he has never stood in the way of the Republican Party's reckless policies. He has voted with a majority of Bush Republicans 88% of the time - this is much higher than the average GOP loyalty of 80%.
  • McCain is out of touch with America's families and the pocketbook issues that affect them. McCain has said our economic problems are psychological. He has no plans for getting us out of this Republican Recession, and has even admitted that he doesn't understand the economy.
  • John McCain is wrong on issues important to Florida. In particular, he ridicules a National Catastrophic Insurance Fund proposal, supported by all Republican and Democratic Florida members of Congress, which would reduce property insurance rates and stabilize the market. He has also voted time and again against improving health care for our brave veterans.
  • We can't afford John McCain. McCain is promising billions of dollars in new spending and tax cuts for the wealthy and corporations, saying he will pay for it all by eliminating earmarks. But with the outrageous cost of his new spending far eclipsing the cost of earmarks, the numbers just don't add up.
  • John McCain offers more of the same disastrous leadership on Iraq we've seen from the Bush Administration. He advocates a 100-year troop presence in Iraq, even though most Americans want to start bringing our troops home -- something he has no plan for.
  • McCain doesn't have a health care plan that will work for all Americans. His plan does little to bring down the cost of health care or increase the quality. It wouldn’t help the uninsured get coverage. He also voted in favor of President Bush’s veto of the SCHIP program to provide healthcare for children.
  • John McCain's doubletalk show he's just another Washington politician who will say or do anything to get elected. He has flip-flopped on Iraq, Bush's tax cuts for the wealthy, the mortgage crisis, and Congressional earmarks.
